Kimberly J. Dix | Age: 17

Brittany Bowers, Janay Davis, and Kimberly J. Dix, all age 17, died October 21, 2004. They were students at Lafayette High School. Joseph Marzo, 17, also a student at Lafayette High School was driving a 1998 Pontiac Bonneville on Bull Hill Road in Lafayette when he lost control of the vehicle, drove off the road, sheared two trees, and struck a third broadside. Brittany, Janay, and Kimberly were passengers in the vehicle. They were returning to school after lunch. It was Janay Davis' birthday. Bad weather and excessive speed were said to have contributed to the crash.

Joseph Marzo was charged with three felony counts of criminally negligent homicide. In court, Marzo admitted he drove, "...grossly in excess of the posted 35 mph speed limit and ignored the slick road conditions caused by the rainfall." He was sentenced to five years probation, with the first five months served at the Onondaga County Correctional Facility.
